Nottingham Diabetic Retinopathy Service

Not everyone with Diabetes will get eye problems. Having a digital photograph taken can diagnose problems before vision is affected. Treatment can then prevent partial or complete loss of vision. If vision is already affected, treatment can stop things getting worse.

Everyone in Greater Nottingham who has Diabetes is now being offered a free yearly digital photograph of the back of the eye (the retina).

This is a free, high quality, NHS service which replaces the previous Optometry-based screening service.
